Drew Pawlak, AGS Latin America’s VP and General Manager

“Our innovative Alora video bingo will entertain and engage the Brazilian market soon”

Leading designer and supplier of electronic gaming machines, table products, and interactive solutions for the gaming industry, AGS, has participated at recent G2E Las Vegas with great success, where it showcased its innovative Alora video bingo cabinet. Drew Pawlak, AGS Latin America’s VP and General Manager, talked with GMB about the plans of the company for this product line and its possibilities in different markets worldwide. “We see video bingo offering a unique player experience for the casino market,” he comments.

GMB - How would AGS summarize this year's G2E?
Drew Pawlak - This year’s G2E was our best yet. We had so many exciting things to share with our customers, including the GLI approval of our Dex S card shuffler, our Pennsylvania license, and of course our innovative Alora® video bingo cabinet and library of exciting game content to entertain and engage players in video bingo markets across the globe, including Mexico, the Philippines, and soon – Brazil.

During G2E, AGS presented the Alora® Cabinet and an array of Video Bingo Games, how was the reception?
We welcomed many gaming operators from video bingo markets across the globe to our booth and invited them to experience our Alora product. The response was overwhelmingly positive; operators were excited by the depth of our library, our game content, and the sleek and sophisticated styling of the cabinet.

Operators really like the immersive player experience that our Alora delivers, with hardware that complements our game software. On the content side, we heard good feedback about our Alora game library, which offers a host of player-favorite features like linked, multi-level near-area progressives and community bonuses. Numerous customers also noted how our Alora hardware compliments game play, mentioning the game-synchronized cabinet lighting, premium audio package, and our foot pedal for hands-free game play.

AGS has clearly defined themselves as the first American Manufacturer with a full line of Video Bingo products, what are AGS plans for this product line and how does it integrate with the company's other products?
We are excited about getting our Alora games out into numerous markets because they offer a different style of game play than traditional Latin video bingo, while still delivering the time-on-device and game mechanics that video bingo enthusiasts love. Our Alora product compliments AGS’ ICON and Orion games, offering an exceptional play experience distinctly designed for video bingo markets around the globe.

Our AGS development team includes a dedicated group of Latin bingo developers with over 25 years of experience and success in electronic bingo. We know what operators and players expect and our Alora line of video bingo games have been built to meet those expectations.

Mexico, Philippines and Brazil are the major Video Bingo markets worldwide. Does AGS have plans to introduce the Alora® product line in the United States?
In the U.S. we have great momentum right now with our Orion Portrait and Slant platforms, along with a rich and growing library of high-performing game content for both form factors. At this time, we are focusing on continued penetration of Orion for our U.S. Class II and Class III customers.

We added the Alora to our AGS product library to specifically serve video bingo markets outside the United States. However, if the Alora performs as well as we think it will, we will certainly consider it for the U.S. market in jurisdictions where we think it could offer a compelling and different experience for players. But at this point, our focus with Alora is Mexico, the Philippines, Latin America, and Brazil when that market opens.

How does AGS see Video Bingo competing in the casino market?
Several gaming suppliers have introduced video bingo games into traditional casino markets to varying levels of success. We see video bingo offering a unique player experience for the casino market, but we recognize that there is a learning curve and educational component that cannot be ignored.
