Federal Deputy Andrés Sanchez (PT / SP) presented on Wednesday a proposed amendment to legalize games of fortune in Brazil within the new general tourism law. According to the amendment, it would be allowed online gaming, casinos with integrated resorts and even bingos in football stadiums.
The amendment introduced by Deputy Andrés Sanchez says:
"It is authorized the exploitation of games of fortune in bingos, online gaming and casinos established in integrated resorts, according to terms of the regulation.
Sole paragraph: The bingos in football stadiums with a capacity of more than 15,000 people are allowed to operate.”
The discussion on the inclusion of legalization of gaming along with the new tourism law has been in consideration for several months.
The first attempt was to include only the casinos in integrated resorts, a proposal that was rejected by the deputies and soon withdrawn from the project.
Last week at a meeting of leaders with the mayor, Rodrigo Maia, it was confirmed that the regulation of any type of games would not be included into the new tourism law.
