Marsio Schneider, Acquisition Manager in Brazil

"We are placing NetBet as the most promising bookmaker in the Brazilian market"

Marsio Schneider is the new Acquisition Manager for NetBet in Brazil and, in an exclusive conversation with GMB, he guaranteed that the firm intends to invest more in sports once the sports betting regulation is approved in the country. During the quarantine, NetBet has been working on social networks to get closer to the public. “We have made several lives on our Instagram profile. The reception was very good, and we intend to expand. Interacting with the public is always great,” said Schneider.

GMB - To get to know you better now, tell us about yourself and your experience in the industry…
Marsio Schneider - I have over 15 years of experience with marketing in the Brazilian market, 7 years in the financial sector, working with investment education. Today, I am the Acquisition Manager for NetBet in Brazil, being part of a team of professionals from different countries, which is bringing the best of the world in the betting and gaming market to Brazil. Combining knowledge in several areas, we are placing NetBet as the most promising bookmaker in the Brazilian market.

Because of the crisis, eSports has become an attractive alternative for bettors who find themselves without real games with cancelation of live events. How has NetBet exploited eSports on its platform? Do you believe in an exponential growth of this modality within betting sites?
Yes, eSports are more and more popular and Brazilian teams have stood out on the world stage. NetBet has exclusive promotions for the eSports market, as well as excellent odds.

NetBet already sponsors Brazilian football teams, went to the basketball area and even to MMA having a partnership with Junior Cigano. Are there plans to extend sponsorship to other sports that are popular in Brazil?
For sure. We are studying several opportunities for 2021, but they are still classified. Football, as it is the main Brazilian sport, is still a priority at NetBet, but several other sports are in consideration for future investments.

In late May, Bolsonaro met with the presidents of Vasco and Flamengo to talk about the resumption of the Carioca Championship. What is your position in relation to this possibility?
Our business is gaming and betting. For us, it is great. However, the health of the population comes first. We will support the decision of our president.

The regulation of sports betting is to come in the country. What does NetBet plan for when that moment finally arrives?
Increase marketing and investments. We have taken advantage of this moment to invest in technology, security, system improvement and training of our people. NetBet awaits regulation of the betting market in Brazil to increase its investments in sports.

We have seen that NetBet has performed several lives on the Instragram profile. How was the public reception with these actions?
Very good, and we intend to expand. Interacting with the public is always great. We will continue with the lives and we will have news soon.

After the pandemic, do you believe that the sports betting industry will change permanently? Will another way of working and business be born?
It is an industry that is just beginning in the country. It has a lot to grow and evolve. Bets are spreading across the country and with this pandemic and people at home, bets have been a great source of profit. I believe that this will become more and more common: more people studying, investing and becoming professional in the field of betting.

What news have you planned until the end of 2020 for Brazil?
Follow NetBet on social media and stay tuned. Plenty of good stuff coming, but for now I prefer to keep the plans in secret.
