The topic of Integrity and Sports Betting in Brazil is considered vital for the viability, sustainability, and impact of sports as a sustainable, progressive, and successful industry, and above all, as a catalyst for socioeconomic growth.
Under the title "Integrity and Sports Betting in Brazil," this edition of SIJ – the first in Portuguese – features contributions from a wide range of national and international experts. The knowledge, breadth, and depth of the articles, research, and contributions compiled in this publication make it a pioneering milestone and essential reading.
Following the release of the Guidelines for Sports Betting Operators' Sponsorships on the eve of the official opening of the ongoing Olympic Games, SIGA once again asserts its status as a leading organization in the field of Sports Integrity.
With this specialized publication, SIGA makes another decisive contribution to the informed clarification of all stakeholders, including sports organizations, public authorities, regulators, betting operators, media, and the general public, and to the informed and constructive debate on various pertinent issues.
"I collaborated on the publication with an article where I was able to highlight the importance of the regulatory process for promoting the integrity of the betting sector, and I also made a point to remind that we have an obligation to protect sports from the threats surrounding them. After all, talking about sports is about dreams, and if that dream belongs to a child, it needs to be preserved and cared for," says Fred Justo, General Coordinator of AML at the Ministry of Finance.
Besides Justo, the publication includes texts from relevant local market figures such as Daniela Olimpio (Deputy Secretary of Authorization at the Ministry of Finance's Sports Betting Secretariat), Paulo Schmitt (Integrity Consultant for the São Paulo Football Federation and the Brazilian Olympic Committee), Rafael Marchetti Marcondes (Chief Legal Officer at Rei do Pitaco), Andrei Kampff (Creator of the Portal Lei em Campo), and Tiago Horta Barbosa (Head of Integrity Latin America at Genius Sports), among others.
