With the increasing certainty of the approval that would liberate the gambling industry in Brazil, different investors and key players of the sector are analyzing the opportunities that will arise in all segments of the market. According to André Gelfi, president of Codere, an important name in the field of online betting, when it comes to online and offline businessmen should see far beyond their areas of expertise.
"Nowadays, I
think, no one can afford to stand on one side and not be on the other. We must
offer the customer what they are looking for. And that is an integral
entertainment alternative, " he explained.
According to Gelfi, after approval of the law, the gambling market in
Brazil must undergo a consolidation process that may be good for some and not
for others. But, of course, "it is natural.”
"It will be a process of consolidation, naturally, of a competitive
environment. You will have very good players, medium players and bad players
who are likely to be absorbed by others. And this is from the competition game.
This is the beauty of the development of free enterprise and it will not be
different in our activity. "
Asked if any of the two projects that is beeing analyzed at a political level will
be better for the market, Codere’s President said that both have their
qualities, but that the most important is that they are approved with speed.
"If you look on the side of
conservatism; the project of the Camera is better. The Senate is assuming that
regulation will be well done. The projects address the issue and I'm excited to
follow them and, as much as possible, contribute to both so that regulation is
faster," concluded Gelfi.
