Senator Cidinho
Santos defended the legalization of bingos and casinos in Brazil in an
interview granted to Reportér MT, a news portal of Mato Grosso, in which he
said that gaming will help the economy and move important sectors such as
tourism.
According to the Senator, the gaming regulation will give foreign bettors the
opportunity to get to know Brazil and also that the Brazilians themselves can
move the tourism since they also like to play.
"There is a hypocrisy about gambling. Anyone who does not play here goes
to Uruguay, Paraguay or Las Vegas." Santos argued that with the
legalization of casinos and bingos the Brazilian government will also have
another source of revenue. And he explained that the project has been worked on
to create a gaming industry for the private sector.
"In
the project it is established that the political agents and his relatives can
not have connection with gaming activities."
During the interview the Senator also spoke about the project of labor reform
defending the flexibilization of the workload with increase of 8 to 12 hours,
and other issues that will be debated in the Senate.
