Caixa Econômica Federal and Corinthians started in January
the talks to renew the master sponsorship of the São Paulo club. So far both
parties have expressed interest in extending the partnership.
According to the club's budget
forecast for 2017, revenue from master sponsorship in partnership with Caixa
would be close to USD 9.5 million. The company would stamp its mark on the chest of the Corinthian shirt.
Corinthians
received from the state bank the form that is part of the renewal process. In
that document, Timão's leaders put forward the initial proposal to extend the
bond until April 2018 and then returned the paperwork to the bank.
The contract between Caixa and Corinthians is valid until April, but Corinthian’s
board wants to advance negotiations and avoid problems like last year when,
during the renovation process, the team entered the field with the
"clean" shirt in some games.
If the Caixa renews with Corinthians, it will print its brand on the shirt’s club in seven consecutive years. The bank has been a partner of the club since the end of 2012, when it invested in Timão in the occasion of the FIFA Club World Cup.
