Senator Ciro Nogueira's (PP-PI) bill, Senate Bill PL186 / 2014, will be debated by the Senate Constitution and Justice Commission in February after parliamentary recess. The proposal deals with the legalization of casinos, bingos, the poplar local "jogo de bicho” and other modalities of games of chance.
The project had already been unanimously approved by the Special Committee on National Development in November. But the text was sent to the CCJ after approval in plenary of the request made by Senator Magno Malta (PR-ES).
At CCJ, the project will win a new rapporteur who has not yet been chosen. The last rapporteur of the project was Senator Fernando Bezerra (PSB -PE) who accompanied the process until the vote on the petition in plenary.
In addition to the Senate, there is also a bill in the Chamber of Deputies. PL 442/91 was debated during a public session in the parliamentary house in December, but there is no date yet to be voted by the deputies.
