“Copag is growing in Latam with presence in all countries where casinos are regulated”

(Exclusive GMB) - Ricardo Albino Gonçalves Neto, director of Copag, talks about his expectation for SAGSE show, the LatAm market as a whole, especially Argentina -'which has faced problems due to import restrictions'- and Brazil, without a timing for regulation the activity. 'When it happens, we will be ready,' says the young entrepreneur, fifth generation of the founding family of the world's leading supplier of card decks.

GMB - Once again Copag will participate in SAGSE exhibition, showing a historical relationship with the most important trade show in South America. I would like you to talk a little about it...
Ricardo Neto - Yes, Copag is keen to be present at the biggest fairs in the world. And this year, as SAGSE will be celebrating 25 years, we could not miss it, both because of our relationship with the show and due to our presence in the LaAm market.

What will Copag show? Any news will be presented during the trade show?
We will show our line of card decks for casinos. Both the cardboard and 100% plastic models will be on display at SAGSE. They are products already consecrated in the world market and it is a pride to show approved products in the best casinos of the five continents.

Has the Latin market grown for Copag? In which countries is the company present?
Yes, we are growing in the Latin market and we are present in all countries where casinos are regulated.

How has the Argentine market specifically been for Copag?
The Argentine market is specifically presenting difficulties with regard to imports, however we have sold to some casinos with a lot of effort.

SAGSE traditionally attracts many professionals from Brazil and this year, with the advances of the discussions about the regulation of the sector, will probably have even more visitors from the country. How do you see the progress of the debates of the gaming law?
We know that there is a great willingness to approve, but we also know that our country is still experiencing a very great political crisis and this greatly undermines the planning and investment in eventual approval of the law.

Being the largest card manufacturing on the continent, are you already prepared for Brazil? How will the company work both in the supply of card decks and in the future assembly of machines, as you have already told GMB?
We are 100% ready to serve the market. We will act strongly to consolidate the domestic market and maintain our leadership position in the card segment. We will be ready to be competitive in the machine market as well.

Are you waiting for the law to be approved by the end of the year?
We no longer work with anticipation about the timing of the law. But when it happens we will be ready to supply the market.
