Winfil gaming house reopens and resumes bettings

Target of a Civil Police and Public Prosecution operation last October 30, the Winfil gaming house, in the south zone of Porto Alegre, went back to operation with bets in yestderday’s (Thursday 9) late afternoon. In the lawsuit late last month, authorities seized devices from the machines where money is placed.

Local media GaúchaZH was in the establishment yesterday evening and found the possibility of taking bets on the slot machines.

At the moment that the media was in the house of Avenida Cavalhada, there was players in the gaming house. At the entrance, visitors could get access to employee guidance on how to use the gaming equipment.

The house opened on October 19, but with machines operating without betting. Nine days later, Winfil started to allow money bets on the slots.

The motive was a decision of the 3rd Public Treasury Court of Porto Alegre - the establishment filed a preventive security order- and Judge Viviane de Faria Miranda granted an injunction prohibiting the Military Brigade and the Civil Police from apprehending, in the eventual operation, machines of the gaming house. Last week, an order from the 3rd Civil Chamber of the Court overturned the ruling.
