Group’s IR on Cotai proyected by the end of 2018

SJM Holdings profits down 16.5%

Macau casino operator SJM Holdings reported a 16.5% decrease in profit in Q3, amounting to US$54.85 million, while adjusted EBITDA fell 10.4% to US$93.1 million. However, it posted a small increase in gaming revenue for the quarter, reaching US$1.28 billion, an increase of 0.6%.

In regards to gaming performance, SJM said it saw a rise in VIP revenue, recording an increase of 7.4%. Mass market gaming revenue, however, fell 4.6% in the same period. Its flagship casino, the Grand Lisboa, saw its gaming revenue rise 19.3%, reaching US$475 million.

SJM said construction of the Grand Lisboa Palace, the group’s integrated resort on Cotai, continued in Q3 but was adversely affected by category 10 typhoon Hato in August and a fire related incident in September.

The group said it is aiming to complete the project by the end of 2018 on budget and will conduct a "detailed assessment on the overall schedule of the project and will inform the market as and when appropriate.”
