Diego Mejia, LatAm Business Development Manager

“Brazil holds a very interesting business potential for JCM”

(Exclusive GMB) - JCM was once again part of SAGSE trade show, presenting to the regional market a wide range of developments. Diego Mejia, firm’s LatAm Business Development Manager, talked with GMB about the Argentinian event, the presence of the company in the region, the projects for 2018 and the expectations of the opening of the Brazilian market.

GMB - How did you see SAGSE in this edition that celebrated 25 years?
Diego Mejia - SAGSE is always a fun and exciting show, and with this being the 25th anniversary made it an extra special event. The organizers did an outstanding job and are deserving of the industry’s highest compliments. JCM has been fully committed to the gaming industry across Latin America for nearly two decades, and that makes SAGSE is an important show for JCM. The show always provides us with an excellent opportunity to meet with existing customers, and this year was no exception. Customers who visited us were impressed with our bill validation technologies in our iVIZION, UBA, and DBV-500 bill validators, and with the capabilities of our ICB 3.0 Intelligent Cash Box drop management system, which streamlines the entire drop process. Additionally, our GEN5 thermal printer and PromoNet 2.0 floor-wide couponing solution were very well received, as was our BlueWaveDX firmware upload tool. We were also happy to present our annual slot tech training, where our experts gave hands-on training on iVIZION, GEN5, and the GEN2U thermal printer.

How do you see the Latin American market and where does your company place it today?
The Latin American market is important to JCM, and we have been supportive of operators across the region for nearly 20 years. Today, we have excellent customer relationships across Latin America and in SAGSE’s host country of Argentina. We know that our customers expect us to provide a robust first line of defense against counterfeiters and other types of cheats. We take those expectations seriously, and we continually invest in our R&D processes to ensure we deliver on our promise to our customers. Our customers also look to us to help them to deepen connections with their customers, with products such as PromoNet floor-wide couponing and our GEN5 thermal printer, and we work hard every day to deliver on our promises and to exceed our customers’ expectations.

The year is almost ending, how was it for JCM?
As 2017 comes to a close, we can safely say this has been a good year for JCM in LatAm, and over the last few weeks of the year, we are planning for 2018 and helping to ensure our customers have the very best possible protection for their casino floors.

What projects, goals, do you have for 2018?
We will continue to perfect our new FUZION technology, as well as investing in R&D to ensure our bill validators are the most secure in the marketplace. Criminals are always looking for ways to cheat casinos, and that is why we are fully committed to work diligently to stay at least one step ahead of criminals and the ways they attempt to exploit technology and to protect our customers.

How do you see the process of gaming legalization in Brazil? Is JCM prepared and with the intention of working in the country as soon as the activity is legalized?
Brazil holds a very interesting business potential, and at JCM we are ready. As is the case in every gaming market, one important part of the gaming industry in Brazil will be for regulators and operators to actively move to defeat counterfeiters and other types of cheats. Because they employ a robust set of technologies, our bill validators are designed to act as a first line of defense, helping to protect operators.
