Chilean regulator approves sale of Enjoy to Advent

Enjoy reported on Friday that the Chilean Superintendence of Casinos (SCJ) approved Advent International Corporation as buyer in the sale operation that the casino operator is carrying out with this fund. The regulator stated that Advent 'has complied with the standard of customer knowledge and of origin and sufficiency of funds.'

Enjoy entered in Uruguay in 2013 with the purchase of 45% of the Conrad to Caesars Entertainment. In May of this year, it acquired the remaining 55% of the traditional casino hotel in Punta del Este, thus obtaining 100% of the operation.

According to the information, the SCJ indicated that Advent "considered the standard of customer knowledge and origin and sufficiency of funds fulfilled". The general manager of Enjoy, Gerardo Cood, reported this to the Superintendency of Securities and Insurance -supervisor, among others, of the stock market- in an "essential fact" last Thursday.

"The governmental approvals that were a condition precedent for the operation have been obtained to date, so that Enjoy and its corporate bodies will proceed with the necessary steps to close the transaction, under the terms of the respective contracts," the executive explained.

"What we were looking for fundamentally was a great strategic partner from the financial point of view," said Javier Martínez, chairman of Enjoy's board, who added that Advent was "one of the five main investment funds in the world, with investments in many places, including in Latin America. "
