If gaming is approved in Brazil

Lambari Casino could operate again in Mina Gerais

The once famous Cassino do Lago, in the city of Lambari, could be reactivated. The possibility that the space is reused as a gaming venue is not discarded and is already considered by authorities representing the South of Mina Gerais. Federal deputy Newton Cardoso Junior, in an interview with Brazil Metropolis, commented on the subject. He said that the casino of Lambari is a case that should be availed when gaming industry is regulated in Brazil.

There is an expectation in the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies that PL 442/91 -which considers the authorization of the return of bingos and casinos in Brazil- will be put to a vote in the coming weeks.

The request for the project to be put to a vote in November, started from the Legislature's Party Legislator, Federal Deputy César Halum (PR-TO), in a request to the Mayor of the Chamber, Rodrigo Maia (DEM - RJ). The president of the Chamber would have committed to allies to put the project into a vote this month, after the issue has gained pressure after the formation of the parliamentary front with 262 deputies.

In addition, other projects in the same direction are being discussed in the National Congress. One of them is in the Senate. The idea of the parliamentary front is that with the approval of the project, it will be possible to begin the construction of casinos in Brazil, next year. Overall, the project will allow for most of the gaming offerings, from the adoption of the resort casino model, sports betting, legalization of the poplar " jogo do bicho” and the implementation of online games.

The famous Cassino do Lago, in the city of Lambari, is already seen with other eyes and can leverage tourism in the South of Mina Gerais. With the project being discussed in Congress, authorities representing the region already envisage the possibility of reuse the space as a gaming venue again.

Federal Deputy Newton Cardoso Junior, in an exclusive interview with Brazil Metropolis, reported that, based on the expectation of the vote, he has an approved amendment, in which hydromineral venues with beaches resorts may the option to include casinos. "Certainly, with the approval of the project, this will be an asset and a great landmark for tourism in the South of Minas Gerais."

He explains that Cassino do Lago is remembered with great affection and that, with this project, it may have a new future; "We are working hard to ensure the renovation of Guanabará Lake, all around the casino. The lake needs the recovery of two river streams that come to it. We are working with our Vice Mayor, Dr. João Paulo. Lambari casino is an idea that we have to take advantage of under this law. If approved with our amendment, Lambari will certainly have an authorization to operate a casino, as well as, Caxambu, São Lourenço, Poços de Caldas and many other municipalities in the South of Minas".
