AJES President supports Brazilian Pro-Gaming Parliamentary Front

Arlindo Figueiredo, president of AJES (Association of Electronic Games and Similars of Brazil) is mobilizing with the deputies the progress of the project that was already approved by the gaming committee last year. Figueiredo does not understand why Brazil delays on legalizing the activity, and says that the fight to regulate it can finish with the corruption in this sector.

On October 18, businessmen from the electronic games industry gathered for a dinner at a traditional steak house in Brasilia, and 262 deputies formed the parliamentary front to approve the legalization of electronic games in Brazil.

Arlindo Figueiredo, President of AJES (Association of Electronic and Similars Games of Brazil) that was also present, is mobilizing with the deputies the progress of the project that was already approved by the gaming committee last year. The bill is already regulated and must be voted by the Federal Chamber, which is expected to take place at the beginning of 2018.

Figueiredo says that the fight for legalization of games is to end with corruption in this segment. Only in the bingo sector will be generated 200 thousand new jobs with a formal contract in several professional areas, and the legalization of games in general will bring one million jobs, in addition to the collection of tax that will be destined for health and public safety in close to USS$ 6 billion per year.

The government is able to administer all games, just line CAIXA manages 34 terminals and 12 thousand lottery tickets in more than 4,500 municipalities.

Figueiredo also does not understand the delay on regulating the activity and that the Brazilian authorities do not see the size of the damage in collection and unemployment, while it is allowed in the whole world and with just Brazil and Bolivia forbidding it in South America.
