Brazilian government calls banks to explain new conditions of LOTEX

The National Bank for Economic and Social Development and the Ministry of Finance decided to call local and international banks operating in Brazil to show in detail the changes that occurred in the conditions of the Instant Lottery and its advantages. They are financiers who have already shown interest and others especially invited. The meeting will be held this Tuesday at the BNDES headquarters in Sao Paulo, from 9 to 11.30.

The government has not given up on privatizing the Lotex instant lottery. The service concession period was reduced from 25 to 15 years, in order to reduce the risk of the operation. The grant value should be around R$ 520 million (USD 158m).

Tomorrow, the government will present the new LOTEX grant model to members of the financial sector.

BNDES, as manager of the concession, invited banks that already showed their intentions to present themselves to the bidding process and to other potentially interested parties, who wish to explain the advantages of investing in this market.

All were called exclusively by invitation and are purely Brazilian institutions and other international but with local representation in the country.

The agenda of the event will be the following:

09.00-09.30
Lecture: LOTEX and the Brazilian macroeconomic scenario
Responsible: Mansueto Almeida (Secretary of Economic Accompaniment of the Ministry of Finance)

09.30-09.50

09.50-11.50

Questions and Doubts

TIt is expected that, once the technical team of the Federal Audit Court (TCU) finishes the opinion, the auction will be held.

The novelty is that last Friday (8th), SECEX-RJ (Secretariat of External Control not Rio de Janeiro State) concluded its pronouncement on the issue and this analysis was sent to external arrangements in Coinfra (General Coordination of External Infrastructure Control).
