This new office will receive complaints and investigate cases of match fixing and corruption that may arise. The objective is to protect Colombian football from the intentions of illegal gamblers and from irregular actions that promote the alteration of results in professional categories matches.
The agreement, signed by the Attorney Néstor Martínez, the president of Dimayor, Jorge Perdomo, and the representative of the professional football players, Luis García, has another objective and is to train the judicial police that will be in charge of the investigation and prosecution of the sports fraud, as well as guidance to football match safety coordinators and club integrity officers in the prevention of racism, xenophobia, intolerance, homophobia and violence in the field of professional football.
"The agreement will allow real-time reporting of any form of deception, fraud, or corruption. We have created institutional channels to have information that will lead us to give immediate results," said Attorney Martinez.
