The president of Coljuegos, Juan B. Perez Hidalgo, reported this week that he signed the concession agreement for the operation of online games with Geonline SAS Business Group, which grants it authorization to play Internet bets with the domain www.mijugada.co. The concession given for the operation of new games of chance operated on the Internet is for the type of game 'Bets on real sporting events', which was granted for a period of 3 years and a contract of close to US$1.25 million.

The president of the gambling regulator entity in the country explained that companies that meet the financial, technical and legal requirements established by Coljuegos and guarantee the generation of resources for the health of Colombians can operate online bettings in the country.

"There are already six (6) websites that offer online gambling in a legal way in Colombia: wplay.co, betplay.com.co, colbet.co, zamba.co, codere.com.co and mijugada.co. Thanks to the regulations we launched in Coljuegos since November 2016 for games operated by the Internet, Colombia became the first Latin American country to regulate this type of bettings," said Pérez Hidalgo.

"With this initiative, we seek greater resources for the health of Colombians, expanding the gaming portfolio through innovative tools and meeting the global trend towards greater use of new technologies in the world," he added.

Coljuegos announced in November that it collected US$161.5 million worth of exploration rights in 2017, of which approximately US$1.26 million correspond to the collection received from online gaming. The management of the entity will allow for the first time in the country, the gaming can transfer to health more than US$168 million.
