The Lottery of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Loterj) participated in the first edition of the PcD City Fair, the largest inclusion, accessibility, orientation and mobility event for the Person with Disabilities (PcD), at the Arena 2 of the Olympic Park, Barra da Tijuca, at the west zone of the city. During the event, the president of Loterj, Sérgio Ricardo de Almeida, announced that this month will inform about the result of the announcement that will allocate resources to the institutions and projects that serve this public.
"On December 22 the result of the notice published for the transfer of funds to finance 20 institutions that serve people with physical disabilities will be available. We will open a new call for proposals early next year. Our expectation is that this event will grow and enter the calendar of the city," said the president of Loterj.
But what is Loterj's relationship with people who have a disability? Many of them are served by social projects and institutions that are supported by the State Lottery of Rio de Janeiro in partnership with RioSolidario. In June of this year, Loterj allocated US$1.6 million to finance 40 projects in every state of Rio de Janeiro. This transfer happened because 70% of Loterj's net income is earmarked for social projects in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The event featured lectures, workshops, music and dance shows (all from PcD), food trucks, games such as volleyball and basketball, test drive space for adapted vehicles and even a job counter to boost the market's entry of work.
