The plenary of the Chamber of Deputies will vote on Tuesday (14) the
request nº 5.358/16 asking urgency for the assessment of bill 442/91 that analyzes
the regulation of gaming in Brazil.
The request was asked by the partisan leaders under the terms of art. 155 of
the Internal Rules of the Chamber of Deputies. Once approved the request for
urgency in Plenary, the project passes the front in the "queue" of
debates and waits for the date to be voted definitively.
Bill 442, of 1991, was
proposed by the then deputy Renato Vianna and deals with the repeal of legal
provisions regarding the practice of popular local "jogo do bicho",
preparing a Regulatory Framework for gaming activity in Brazil.
The last time the bill was discussed in the House plenary was on December 13
last year at a public hearing in which MPs and representatives of civil society
presented arguments for and against the legalization of the activity.
