Sportradar is operating the FDS (Fraud Detection System) against manipulation of results in Pernambuco football. The company was contracted by the FPF to prevent possible cases of fraud in the state championship.
The FDS, the same
used by FIFA, was created in 2005 and currently has three different offices in
London (England), Manila (Philipines) and Sydney (Australia), obtaining data sent by 5,000
journalists and 275 freelance researchers.
The FDS issues two
types of alerts for possible manipulations. One before the games identifying
unusual moves in bets and another during the games by means of a mathematical
model that also shows strange movements.
So far, the system has not identified any suspected fraud or manipulation in matches played in Pernambuco. In addition to the FPF, COMEMBOL and FIFA recently also announced partnerships with Sportradar to prevent fraud in football results.
