While the upcoming currency changes remain the hot topic of the cash handling industry, TITIO (ticket in – ticket out) is not far behind, and the JetScan IFX is the first range of scanners to effectively handle tickets, cash and checks on the same device.
Paul Clay, sales manager of Cummins Allison, explained: "Our IFX range has image sensors that recognise the image of bank notes, so operators can count mixed notes, separate them and face orient them. The IFX can also recognise the bar code on a TITO ticket, so operators can process cash and tickets at the same time, separating the notes from the ticket.
"We’ve even gone one step further with our image management software, which can link up to slot tracking systems to reconcile and clear down the TITO tickets,” Clay added.
The IFX will also handle the new polymer note, however Cummins Allison has been working with devices that are need updating for the new currency after informing operators of the work that needs to be done well in advance.
"It was probably two years ago we started to send out letters and emails to all the customers about upgrading their machines. This upgrade is actually replacing a disk inside the machine, which also updates the warranty of the machine for an extended amount of years. Our factory trained engineers have been busy with this, as our after-sales service is a very important part of our business,” concluded Clay.
