Brazilian lodging sector considers hotel-casinos legalization a priority

Alexandre Sampaio, president of FBHA (Brazilian Lodging and Food Federation) estimates the creation of 400 thousand direct and indirect jobs with the legalization of the activity capable of generating US$ 4.8 billion in taxes and US$ 5.8 billion in revenue per year, as well as increasing the tourist potential of cities By 200%.

The FBHA has placed the legalization of hotel-casinos as one of its priorities for the year 2017. The entity has been following carefully all steps of the process of legalization of casinos, bingos and popular local "jogo do bicho” in process in the national congress.

According to the president of the FBHA, the legalization of hotel-casino would generate 400 thousand direct and indirect jobs, moving US$ 4.8 billion in taxes and US$ 5.8 billion in revenue per year. In addition, it’d boost tourism in different cities of the country.

In addition to the hotel-casinos, the federation will also advocate guidelines such as the modernization of the tourism law and labor reform.
