Peruvian Ministry of Tourism supports gaming legalization in Brazil

The president of the casino sector belonging to Mincetur said that the gaming legalization in Brazil will help the entire region. “I see as a plus the whole region having a gaming industry authorized, regulated and controlled. I don´t think it has a negative impact on gaming in Peru,' he concludes.

Manuel San Román Benavente, general director of Casino Games and Slot Machines, an entity belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), announced the intention to expand the internationally agreed axes. He highlighted the support for gaming legalization industry in Brazil.

"I am always a defender that it is better to regulate than to prohibit, because it is a logical part of this activity in quality and I am ten years older ... It will definitely help the region that the activity in Brazil is authorized and regulated. I see as a plus the whole region having a gaming industry authorized, regulated and controlled. I do not think it has a negative impact on the activity in Peru, "said San Román Benavente.

In addition, he announced strategic plans for 2021 to expand Mincetur's businesses, especially operators in the Casinos and Slots sector, and to boost the tourism industry in Peru. "As far as casinos are concerned, it is promoting entertainment abroad in Peru, such as in the border areas of Ecuador, Chile and Bolivia. It is an industry that is regulated, that pays its taxes and has a very efficient control system," explained Manuel San Román Benavente.
