Prior
to assuming the position as Chairman of the Supervisory Board in 1997, Lugmayr
served as CEO of the former Girocredit Bank AG. Lugmayr himself considers
NOVOMATIC’s latest investment in Casinos Austria and Österreichische Lotterien
the "culmination of my activities”.
NOVOMATIC CEO, Harald Neumann, has nothing but praise for Lugmayr. "His
expertise contributed significantly to NOVOMATIC becoming one of our industry’s
world leaders,” said Neumann, adding that Lugmayr has always been a "gentleman
of handshake quality” - from both a personal and a business perspective.
At NOVOMATIC, Herbert Lugmayr (79) had a close relationship with Professor
Johann Graf. For the company founder, Lugmayr "will continue to be an important
advisor who always states his mind openly and honestly.”
