The agreement was
signed by Vice President Gabriela Michetti, in charge of the Executive due to
the trip to Spain of President Mauricio Macri. As the Legislature of Buenos
Aires had already ratified the agreement last year, this step was the last one
necessary to begin the purely technical stage of the transfer, and to define
dates.
National Lottery sources explained that from now on a committee will be formed
with two representatives of the institution and two from the City Gaming
Institute, which in 30 days will have to establish all the legal issues in
which the transfer should be made. In addition, they set a schedule: since
April will begin to run the deadlines so that the Hippodrome of Palermo, the lottery
agencies and the boats-casino, in that order, pass to Buenos Aires hands.
In addition, this agreement unlocks the possibility that National Lottery will
turn to the City all the money for the collection of gaming in 2016, and that
was held until the transfer was solved: it’s about US$ 54,6 million. So far, money
collected from gaming distributed by
thirds among Lottery, the Ministry of National Social Development and the City.
Once the transfer is done, 100% will go to the City.
