The president of FBHA participated in a panel about the trends and future of
the hotel industry alongside important players of the Brazilian tourism industry
during the Forum Panrotas 2017. Sampaio defended the legalization of casino
hotels as an important weapon for the growth of the sector.
The FBHA, as a way of making tourism an economic lever for the country's
growth, has elected some flags of action for this year: "The visa waiver
for tourists from strategic countries, labor reform, the regulation of shared
economy platforms and the legalization of casino hotels in the country are some
of the fundamental issues that need to be standardized to unlock our segment
and the economy of the country. As a direct result, there will be more
government revenue and greater flow of tourists in Brazil, which is positive
for all segments, especially lodging and food," said Sampaio.
In addition to Sampaio, the panel included the president of
the Brazilian Hotel Industry Association (ABIH-Nacional), Dilson Fonseca; the
president of the Brazilian Association of Resorts (ABR), Luigi Rotunno; and the
president of the Forum of Hotel Operators of Brazil FOHB), Manuel Gama. The
editor-in-chief of Panrotas publisher, Artur Andrade, was present as moderator.
The Panrotas Forum, which is in its 15th edition, is considered the main event
of the hotel sector in Brazil, bringing together leaders, decision makers and
important national and international professionals of the sector, who presents
novelties, lectures, panel discussions and presentation of cases of success of
