In the final phase of sponsorship negotiations for football clubs for this
season, Caixa already adds US$ 38.8 million in investments to expose the bank's
brand in the teams' uniforms, practically the same value as last year, which
was US$ 39.4 millions.
However, the amount invested in 2017 may reach US$ 52 million if the Brazilian
government-run bank keeps the agreement with two of the major local football
teams: Corinthians and Vasco da Gama, whose agreements last season were US$ 9.7
million and US$ 3 million, respectively.
In relation to the renewed agreements, three teams were able to raise the
amounts received on sponsorship over last year. The main one was Atletico
Mineiro, which increased by US$ 1.15 million compared to the US$ 4 million it
received in 2016. Sport and Coritiba, who received US$ 1.95 million in the
season, will receive US$ 2.5 million and US$ 2.4 million, respectively. The
only club whose value was reduced was Figueirense, whose agreement dropped from
US$ 1.3 to US$ 1.1 million.
