Brazilian Caixa announces profits of US$ 1.3 billion

The decrease in earnings compared to 2015 is 43%. In the fourth quarter of 2016, the owned-bank had net income of US$ 221.5 million. Caixa Economica Federal has been responsible for the operations of the lottery games in Brazil since 1961, through the division of lotteries that currently offers 10 game modes.

Caixa Economica Federal announced on Tuesday (28) a net profit of US$ 1.3 billion in 2016. In the previous year, the result was US$ 2.3 billion, a 43% drop from one year to year. In the fourth quarter of 2016, the bank had net income of US$ 221.5 million.

Caixa has been responsible for the operations of lottery games in Brazil since 1961 through the division of lotteries. There are 10 types of games: Loteca, Mega-Sena, Lotofácil, Loteria Federal, Lotogol, Lotomania, Quina, Instant Lottery, Double Seine and Timemania.

The lotteries, administered by Caixa, are sponsors of the Fund for Student Financing of Higher Education (FIES), Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) and official sponsor of the Brazilian Paralympic Delegation at the Paralympic Games in Beijing 2008. In addition, it was also an official sponsor Of the Pan American Games Rio 2007 and it is of the selections of athletics, of the gymnastics artistic and rhythmic and of trampoline.
