According to Guilherme Campos, the Post Office has a national presence and, despite
the monopoly of Caixa in the lottery sector, there is a possibility in
legislation that would allow the Post Office to explore another lottery of its
own.
Currently the Correios do Brasil company is facing a serious financial crisis
with the possibility of mass dismissal of employees, many complaints on postal
deliveries and a loss of around US$ 640 million in 2016.
According to the Minister of Science, Technology, Innovations and
Communications, Gilberto Kassab, the company ended in this situation due to the
mismanagement of the previous government that "at some point, withdrew
more resources than prudence recommended as dividends."
