Moarcir Pereira starts his column talking
about Santa Catarina’s people, who travel to Punta Del Este or Las Vegas looking
for gaming options, and spending a large volume of money that could make a lot
of difference for Brazil.
"They are millions of reais, which could generate income and jobs but
finally go abroad. If gaming is legalized in Brazil, Santa Catarina already has
good venues for the operation of casinos. For example, Costão do Santinho has
all the infrastructure for this new alternative".
The journalist recalls that with the liberation of casinos the tourism industry will be the most benefited, but says that the regulation must follow the molds of countries that adopted responsible practices and multidisciplinarity in the casinos.
Pereira finally talks about brazilians participation on other destinations related with gaming. "Tourism is doing very well at Uruguay's Conrad Casino, Las Vegas casinos, resorts in Singapore, Macau and also Palermo racino in neighboring Argentina, in all cases with the presence of thousands of Brazilian tourists."
