"One of the responsibilities of the Front is to work for the sector, accompanying the projects here in the Congress and making them deal with the interests of our segment. That’s why we present this new structure, specialized in politics, legislative process and communication for parliamentary fronts,” explained the deputy.
At the event, it was also introduced the Legislative Agenda
of FrenTur for 2017. There are more than 50 proposals, among them the amendment
of the General Tourism Law and measures of the Brazil + Tourism Plan, announced
last week by the Minister of Tourism, Marx Beltrão.
In the ceremony of held yesterday, Beltrão stressed that most of the demands of
the sector need the support of the National Congress to move forward, and that
the Tourism Front allows the participation of more interested parties. "The
Joint Parliamentary Front in Defense of Tourism, headed by Deputy Herculano,
allows deputies and senators who can not join the committees of tourism of the
Chamber and the Senate, for reasons of regimental, can work for the sector. If
everyone is engaged in tourism, we can have all our guidelines moving in a more
agile way."
The legislative agenda developed by the Front aims to raise Brazilian tourism
to another level and make it one of the main economic segments of the country.
The proposals that are being discussed at the Congress aim, among other things,
to bring more tourists from abroad, to make the Brazilians travel more, attract
more investors and generate more jobs.
For Embratur´s President, Vinicius Lummertz, Frentur plays a key role in this. "Tourism
is a big economic dimension, made up of many sectors, and if we want to have
more strength, we need tourism to have more political force, so that the
necessary reforms come out faster. This is the role of FrenTur, presided so
well by the deputy Herculano," he said.
In his speech, the president of the Front assured that the collegiate will
continue working tirelessly. "We are in a moment of reorganization of
Brazil and also of the tourism sector. This reorganization goes through an
intense legislative agenda and all the proposals of interest of the sector that
are being processed in the two Houses will have a member of FrenTur
accompanying, reporting or filling."
Frentur's agenda for this year includes items such as the gambling legalization,
regulation of the collaborative economy, collection of copyrights,
qualification and qualification of labor, and facilitation of the issuance of
visas for foreign tourists.
The event was attended by the president of the Tourism Committee of the Chamber
of Deputies, Paulo Azi; the president of the Regional Development and Tourism
Commission of the Senate, Fatima Bezerra; as well as the parliamentarians and
senators of FrenTur, secretaries of tourism states and representatives of
various trade entities.
