Federal Deputy Herculano Passos traveled to Macao to know the structure of the
casinos that are responsible for 85% of the economic movement of that Chinese region.
According to him, Brazil should also have similar benefits with the
legalization of the gambling.
"I’ve been in Macao looking at the entire casino structure, which is the
largest groups of casinos in the world, and with a possible legalization of the
activity in Brazil is good to be informed as we can also bring similar
benefits, ” he said.
The parliamentarian also said that legalizing gambling will strengthen tourism
with the new ventures that can be built and will generate new opportunities
even for the government.
"That's why we are working to strengthen tourism through gaming
legalization as it can generate jobs, income, development, and the government
will raise a lot more revenue than it is receiving today."
Heruclano Passos, from PSD of São Paulo, is a member of the Tourism Commission and the Special Commission on the Regulatory Framework for Gaming, one of the main proponents of the gaming legalization in the country.
