Brazilian TV shows gaming market with success stories and investment promises

The gaming market and the debate on legalization of gambling in Brazil was the theme of popular Mundo S / A show, aired by Globo News on Monday’s night. The interest of important international companies in the country, in addition to success stories of people who already work legally within the industry were also addressed.

The program began by showing that Brazilians spend about US$ 2.5 billion a year on illegal gambling, underscoring the argument that the activity in the country already exists and what needs to be discussed is whether the country wants to regulate gambling to gain control, protect players and have an economic activity that would generate US$ 31.5 million per year, as well as combat possible crimes that could arise from the activity.

The interest of important international companies was also addressed by the program. Mpst of them were present at London’s ICE show last February, which received 30,000 people from 150 countries in this year's edition, where businessmen from the sector said they closely follow the steps of legalization in Brazil.

The TV show also spoke with the representative of casino operator Caesars Entertainment, Jan Jones Blackhurst, who said that investment in Brazilian regions such as Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and even Bahia could be multibillion-dollar.

Although gaming is still not regulated in the country, Mundo S / A showed two cases of success with business in the sector. Entrepreneur André Schuartz created Cassinera, a company that takes the world of casinos to different audiences without betting on real money. The company serves sectors from corporate to social, has a professional school of dealers that has already trained 500 people, has goals to grow 30% and open a new branch in the Northeast.

Another case of success in the world of gaming was the one of André Akkari, poker player, who opened his Game House to the TV show and said that today makes more money with the business he created with poker than playing professionally.

The program concluded that legalizing gambling may indeed provide a good source of income for the country, but a clear law must be in place to ensure that enforcement and corruption are properly carried out.
