Jan Jones is in Brazil for Caesars’ possible investments in hotel-casinos

(Exclusive GMB) - With a full schedule, Jan Jones, Vice President of Government Relations for Caesar Entertainment, one of the most important groups of casinos in the United States, is in Brasilia visiting authorities for information and offering subsidies for regulation of gaming industry in Brazil. The next step will be to visit, tomorrow, the Ministry of Tourism, the American Embassy and the lottery sector of Caixa Econômica Federal.

Accompanied by David Zats, vice president of institutional and juridical relations of the group, they were in Bahia yesterday, where they met with the mayor of Salvador, ACM Neto, trying to identifying suitable places for the installation of a resort with Caesars in Brazil. Besides the Mayor, they were with local businessmen and visited cities near the capital.

The executives are joined by André Feldman, the Brazilian WSOP operator, and will visit parliamentarians and senators on Wednesday to understand the next steps in the legislature regarding the approval of the law that will regulate casinos in the country. They have already anticipated the interest in installing integrated resorts in Bahia, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

The next step will be to visit, tomorrow, the Ministry of Tourism, the American Embassy and the lottery sector of Caixa Econômica Federal.

The visit reinforces the interest of large international groups in the imminent opening of the gaming in the country. A few days ago Sheldon Adelson was in the country, also with a strong interest in investing in Brazil.

A new arrival in Brazil is scheduled for next month, when Caesars’ executives will visit authorities in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, with the same objective of defining possible locations for the implementation of Caesar resorts.

Jan Jones's visit, along with Sheldon Adelson's two weeks ago, demonstrates the strong interest that large international groups have in investing in Brazil with major projects that are just waiting to legalize gambling in the country.
