After the publication of the news "Digital lottery is in Brazilian Caixa plans",
many representatives of the lottery sector contacted Games Magazine Brasil in
disagreement with a statement from Stefanini's Director of Innovation and
Digital, Breno Barros. The technology company official commented: "Customers
will no longer need to go to lottery shops to place bets. The idea is that
everything can be done through an application that will show even the results
of lotteries and betting odds based on most drawn numbers."
To clarify, end the controversy and try to reassure lottery retailers of all
the country, Barros talked exclusively with the GMB:
GMB - In what phase is the project and when
would it be launched?
This project is still being thought. It was just an example, because today it
is possible for CEF account holders to bet on lotteries. This model could be
replicated to other users of other banks, causing a broad digital
transformation, but never rendering unviable the lottery agencies, which would
have broader roles in this transformation as well. Again, there is still
nothing implemented, much less date to be released.
What would happen to lottery agencies
when the project goes live?
The business models and joint operations with the lottery are still being
studied and discussed.
Is Stefanini the only IT company that works
with Caixa on this project?
We are not yet working on
these projects. We do not even know if we will be the only ones. Or if the
project will occur. It's just an idea.
Why people should not go to lottery
agecnies to place bets?
As I said before, it was just an example. This model could be replicated to
other users of other banks, causing a broad digital transformation, but never dismissing the lottery agencies, which would have
wider roles in this transformation as well.
