The Secretary for Economic Monitoring, Mansueto Almeida, participated in a
public panel yesterday (Thursday) at Juegos Miami, which dealt with fundamental
issues for the exploration and regulation of lotteries, such as the social
destination of resources from the Lottery activity and also about responsible
gambling.
Almeida, who was accompanied by the Deputy Secretary for Fiscal Governance and
Lottery Regulation, Alexandre Manoel, presented an overview of lottery
regulation in the country, highlighting a diagnosis of the current form of
exploitation of federal lotteries in Brazil, as well as initiatives of the
Ministry of Finance (SEAE / MF), in particular the ongoing actions to privatize
the Exclusive Instant Lottery (LOTEX) and to regulate Fixed Quota (lottery mode
"Fixed Odds").
Juegos Miami began on Wednesday (31) and runs through today (Friday, 2), being
one of the most consolidated international events of the gaming industry in the
Americas, which brings together the main regulating, operating and service
authorities for the sector in Latin America and the Caribbean. In this edition
of Juegos Miam, the program includes a series of debates, lectures and
educational seminars on the sector, as well as networking and exposure of
suppliers with modernization and innovation solutions for lotteries, gaming and
