Invited as one of the speakers at Juegos Miami, Balbuena confirmed: "Since
2014 we have been waiting to announce the opening of an international tender
for the operation of sports betting in Paraguay. Now, after a long work of
which many sectors of the industry have participated, we can assure that we
have the everything ready to advance in this tender."
Balbuena also informed that there will be no open market for several licensed
operators, but will be awarded to a single operator. Although the date is still
not confirmed and will be announced shortly, the CONAJZAR President announced
that there will be news "in the coming months".
"We can not give an exact date for the tender, but we can announce that it will be launched in the first months of the second half of this year and will be oriented to grant a single license for the operation of sports betting, both online and face-to-face.
