The Ministry of Finance foresees the sale of the Exclusive Instant Lottery (
Lotex) only in 2018. Previously, it was expected that the concession of the so-called "scratch card" would be made in 2017 to reinforce the government's cash.
Total collection of federal lotteries reached US$ 1.05 billion in the 2nd quarter.
The Ministry explained that the auction of Exclusive Instant Lottery (
Lotex) will be made in
2017, and that the implementation, that is, the beginning of the sale of the lottery product to the consumer, will take place in 2018.
Earlier, the agency released the Lottery Market Monitoring Bulletin, which stated that the implementation of the
Lotex privatization is scheduled for next year. "It is important to publicize the lottery market, especially with the ongoing process of privatization of
Lotex, whose implementation in Brazil, scheduled for next year, should bring substantial increases in social transfers of lotteries," said the document.
According to the bulletin, the total collection of federal lotteries reached US$ 1.05 billion in the second quarter of 2017, a real increase of 6% over the same period of 2016. The value corresponds to 0.21% of GDP. The document highlights that, compared to the second quarter of 2014, there is an increase of 17.8%.
