The news would mean a firm step for Novomatic in a country where its presence goes far beyond online gaming as it is also one of the leading operators in the face-to-face segment with more than 26,000 lottery and gaming terminals.

According to the Italian press - although the information of the operation still does not appear in the websites of the protagonists - the Novomatic Group would have bought one of the software providers pioneers in the Italian gaming industry: Capecod, a company specialized in developing casino games and that lately had experienced great successes with its mobile division. Capecod is currently an official supplier to major international operators.

Novomatic, with more than 28,000 employees worldwide and operations in more than 50 jurisdictions, already has a presence in Italy since 2007, although it was not until 2014 that it officially began its activity as Novomatic Italia and its headquarters in Rimini.

Capecod is a technology company that started developing videogames software eleven years ago and has been able since the beginning of the regulated market in one of the referents of the online gaming sector (slots, poker and casino).
