Caixa Econômica and Finance fight over scratch card games in Brazil

The CEF (Caixa Econômica Federal) opened a war against the Finance Ministry because of Lotex, the instant lottery known as " raspadinha" (scratch card games). According to columnist Mônica Bergamo, from Folha de S. Paulo, Caixa wants to administer and privatize the company.

However, the Ministry of Finance intends to do an auction so that the " raspadinha" is managed through a concession and also believes it can raise US$ 1.27 billion in an auction.

This Thursday (27th), the "war" between the interests of the two organs was taken to the Minister Moreira Franco (General Secretariat), who met with the leaders of the CEF and the Treasury. However, the column says that the impasse has not been overcome and Moreira must submit the decision to President Michel Temer.
