"Copag will be the center of attention at ICE"

(Exclusive GMB) – Brazilan firm Copag, from the Cartamundi group -the world's largest manufacturer of card decks-, will be at ICE where it will be the center of attention with first-line products. It is well to mention that it is a traditional company that can not operate in its own country due to the lack of a law for casinos. Fabiano Veiga, director of export, emphasizes: 'We are present with our products in the biggest casinos in the world and we want to serve them here, with the same quality and a greater logistical efficiency'.

GMB - First of all, we would like you to talk about the importance of the London show for Copag, as the event attracts visitors from all over the world.
Fabiano Vega - Copag is keen to be present at the biggest fairs in the world, including ICE, which is undoubtedly a great showcase not only for the European market but also for other continents as well. We have been participating in ICE for many years, always with great success.

Is Copag introducing anything new at ICE? What is your expectation about new products in an event of this magnitude?
We will show our line of decks for casinos. Both the cardboard and 100% plastic models will be on display at ICE. They are products already consecrated in the world market and it is a pride to show approved products in the best casinos of the five continents.

What is Copag's outlook for 2018 in the international market? Numerous openings are planned, some groups are investing in mergers and the market is effervescent. Will this be an opportunity to grow Copag's share?
We have a very good outlook for 2018, with opportunity for growth in all markets. Our idea at ICE is to strengthen the relationship we have with our existing customers, as well as prospect new ones.

Although you have already been positioned several times in this space on the Brazilian market, how do you evaluate, at this moment, all the movement around the regulation of the activity in the country?
We know that there is a great willingness to approve, but we also know that our country is still experiencing na important political crisis and this greatly undermines the planning and investment in eventual approval of the law.

As an executive in the global gaming market, what image have you noticed that Brazil portrays as being in the center of world attention in the face of the opening of the sector?
In spite of the political and economic crisis that Brazil is experiencing, the country has great potential for development in the gaming sector and so it continues to draw the attention of large groups of casinos worldwide that are willing to invest a lot of money in Brazil.

As these large groups will have to invest in the opening of casinos in Brazil, how is Copag positioning itself in this direction? Do you already attend groups that showed interest in investing in the country?
We are 100% ready to serve the market, we will act strongly to consolidate the domestic market and maintain our leadership position in the cards segment. Yes, many of the groups that intend to invest in Brazil are already our customers and we intend to serve them here too, with the same quality and with an even greater logistical efficiency.
