A 500-room resort

Air Europa invests strongly in Iguazu: Flight to Madrid with stop in Rio and a hotel casino

Globalia will advance steadily with investments in the Argentine province of Iguazu. Since it will not only unite the city of Cataratas with Madrid with a stopover in Rio de Janeiro through Air Europa (which belongs to Globalia), they also plan to invest in a 500-room resort hotel with casino, where they plan to offer 'all Inclusive' packages for their European customers.

The link between Argentina and Spain again takes flight for the future of tourism in both countries, as since last year the Tourism Minister of the Nation, Gustavo Santos, along with some governors and officials from several provinces of the country, have been negotiating important Spanish tourism investments in the country.

Such is the case of Globalia, the most important Spanish tourism firm, formed by a group of independent companies that compete successfully in their respective sectors and, among them, is the recognized intercontinental airline Air Europa. It also has about a thousand travel agencies and hotels, and more than 13 thousand employees.

Following the agreement signed in May last year (in the Iguazú National Park) for Air Europa to carry out since 2018 the flight that would unite Iguazú-Madrid with a stopover in Rio de Janeiro, last week at the FITUR in Madrid the negotiations move forward and new bets from the Globalia group were revealed.

Not only they intend to unite the city of the Cataratas with Madrid through the Air Europa flight, but they also plan to make an investment in a 500-room Resort Hotel with casino, which they plan to offer through their travel agencies trips with "all inclusive" packages for their European customers.

Globalia’s Resort Hotel in Iguazú

Those who recently participated at this important meeting detailed in dialogue with local media Misiones On Line that "the Globalia group would take over the works of what was to be the Hilton hotel in the 600 hectares of Iguazú (works that are in an estimated 40 %). In this way, the project of the Hilton Iguazú hotel (with 180 rooms and an 18-hole golf course) would be resumed in the coming months because the group wants to start operating at the end of this year with the Air Europa flight and the all inclusive packages from their agencies."

They also said "they will also take charge of the land contiguous to what was to be the Hilton, where currently is what was going to be the Hotel and Barco (Ship)-Casino (which is viewed from the Tancredo Neves bridge), because they do not want only 180 rooms; they plan 500. What it is unkwon is whether they will use the ship (which has been in disuse over the Iguazú River for several years), because they did not mention it."
