Buenos Aires Province called for bids to operate almost 4000 slots

The government of the province of Buenos Aires, in Argentina, called a public tender for the hiring of a comprehensive service for 20 years for the 3,860 slot machines that operate in the district. The machines are in the two casinos of Mar del Plata and those of Miramar, Monte Hermoso, Pinamar, Tigre and Tandil.

Resolution 34/2018 of the Lottery and Casinos Institute published in the Official Bulletin foresees the possibility of an extension for one year. It also establishes that the opening of bids will take place on March 27, 2018 at 11 am in the Meeting Room of the Administration Area of the Institute's Headquarters.

On January 10, Buenos Aires Governor María Eugenia Vidal presented strong measures against gambling and ludopathy, ranging from the hardening of operations against clandestine bets to the closure of three casinos on the coast of the province (Mar de Ajó, Valeria del Mar and Necochea) and a bingo hall (Temperley).

The call for bids for the administration and control of the slots, which for 20 years was carried out directly, will cover almost 4000 machines throughout the province of Buenos Aires. It also includes its renewal and maintenance.

Since the assumption of Vidal, in December 2015, the placement of any other machine has not been authorized.
