Speaking at the largest tourism fair in Brazil - the 46th ABAV Expo, in São Paulo (SP) - Bob Santos, Secretary for Tourism Promotion and Qualification, highlighted casinos as another important market trend for tourism in Brazil. 'This is a sector that has much value to add, although it is still a legislative agenda.'

The diversification of supply channels and the pattern of hosting experiences is a worldwide trend. Speaking at the largest tourism fair in Brazil - the 46th ABAV Expo, in São Paulo (SP) - the Tourism Promotion and Qualification Secretary, Bob Santos, said that "the tourism development scenario accompanies two major revolutions: the one of the digital era and that of the search for the value of experiences."

For him, "the great challenge is not only to follow the trends and adapt to them, but to understand the impact and effect of this in people's lives." He stressed that service sharing is conquering the market of all sectors and that the tourism is being renewed on the basis of these transformations. "Uber, the yellow bicycles here in São Paulo and the rental of boats on Lake Paranoá in Brasilia are beautiful examples of how behavioral and purchasing values are undergoing a review," he analyzed.

For Santos, initiatives to train tourism service providers are crucial to give experiences that are more aligned with this new scenario of qualified demand. "We already have this in our DNA, but to improve competitiveness we need to look at the future and respond to it immediately," he said.

Santos also highlighted casinos as another important market trend for tourism in Brazil. "This is a sector that has a lot value to add, although it is still a legislative agenda. But just look at the outside and realize how much they move in tourism to know that we need this factor of competitiveness here," he said.

In reference to the double celebration (September 27th), World Tourism Day and Turismologist's Day, the leader congratulated the efforts of the professionals who contribute to transforming Brazilian tourism into a market of the highest quality. "You turn cities into smart destinations, move ideas, carry out projects and make the happiness industry happen in Brazil. I can only applaud and thank you," he said.
