PMU Brazil partners with Ingenico to modernize its betting terminals

French company responsible for the management and commercialization of bets on horse racing adopts Smart Terminals, from Ingenico, at all points of sale in Brazil. The goal is to enable greater mobility for sales promoters and to improve the customer experience for payments at accredited agent points and on the website.

The Brazilian subsidiary of Pari Mutuel Urban, PMU Brasil, has just announced the partnership with Ingenico, the world leader in payment technology, to modernize its betting terminals throughout the country. PMU Brazil cites performance, practicality and security as the driving force behind the choice of APOS A8 - Android POS, a Smart Terminal. The goal is to enable greater mobility for sales promoters and to improve the customer experience for payments at accredited agent points and on the website.

The solution adopted has a platform based on the Android system, allowing access to several applications available in the market. The APOS A8 includes touch terminal, ticket printer, prepaid card reader and charge, and allows payment with contactless technology. The new terminals began to be implemented for the Brazil Grand Prix, the most important race of the national turf, which took place in June of this year, and the next step is the integration with payment medium operators.

"PMU Brazil is always looking for new technologies to innovate and modernize its operations. By integrating with operators, we will allow our bettors to purchase credits using any ways of payment available in the market, such as credit and debit cards of various brands, in addition to new ways such as NFC and electronic wallets," said Jaime Baranzano, director of PMU Brazil.

The APOS A8 terminal also provides a wide range of checkout services, including reading bar codes and receipt printing - in the case of PMU Brazil, printing the wager voucher. "The new APOS A8 from Ingenico comes to Brazil with the objective of adding value to the commercial operation, which goes far beyond the simple payment transaction. This terminal, which is already produced locally, offers full front-end automation and access to various Android applications, among other advantages. The partnership with PMU reinforces our commitment to provide innovative, fast and secure solutions for our customers," said José Luis Arias, Ingenico's executive vice president for Latin America.
