Meeting with SEFEL/MF

Ghana is interested on the regulation and operation of lotteries in Brazil

In an institutional meeting held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, the Secretariat for Fiscal, Energy and Lottery Accompaniment (SEFEL) received the Consul General of Ghana in Brasilia, Samuel Sherry-Lord Quarshie, and officials of the National Lottery of the African country. The meeting dealt, in general terms, with the regulation and operation aspects of lotteries in Brazil.

Although the official agenda mentioned that the theme of the meeting was LOTEX, SEFEL officials denied this version. "There was not any specific conversation about LOTEX," the Finance Ministry source told Games Magazine Brazil.

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) is a statutory agency of Ghana and it is under the umbrela of the Ministry of Finance. As a governmental organization, the NLA is responsible for organizing draws for the nation, giving the chance to win outstanding prices.

The board of the NLA oversees the activities of the organization, headed by the chairperson, one representative of the Ministry of Interior, one representative of the Ministry of Finance, another representative of the Attorney General's Department, two Government appointees, and the Director General.

The NLA is a member of the International Association of State Lotteries and the African Association of State Lotteries. Its headquarter is in the city of Acra.
