President-elect denies rumors

Bolsonaro says Caixa’s privatization is not on the radar of next administration

Brazilian President-elect Jair Bolsonaro said that Caixa Econômica Federal, the entity responsible for lottery operations in Brazil since 1962, is not on the radar of privatizations of the next administration. 'Any privatization has to be responsible. Some privatizations will take place. Other strategies, no. Banco do Brasil and Caixa are not on our radar,' he said.

The president-elect also informed that he intends to propose another Pension Reform next year and evaluated that the proposal presented by the current government is very aggressive with the worker.

Bolsonaro even considered the approval of some changes to the rules of retirement in 2018, but he considered that it would be difficult, since several members of Congress were not reelected and Congress is divided at this time. In this way, the elected government has decided to leave the reform to 2019. According to the president-elect, the new text must be sent to the Legislature at the beginning of the mandate.

The statements came after the graduation ceremony of the Officer Improvement Course at the School for the Training of Officials (EsAO). The event at Vila Militar, in Rio de Janeiro, brought together military and family members. 420 military line captains, 15 officers of the so-called Friendly Nations, six Marine officers and 29 medical officers were trained.

The course is held in two years by Army officers who graduated from the Military Academy of Agulhas Negras (Aman), in Resende (RJ), and have reached the rank of captain. Medical officers also carry out a small face-to-face phase in EsAO. Jair Bolsonaro himself has already taken this course when he was in the Army activity and said that the memories moved him.
