Rudi Borgato, CPI Sales Manager for Latin America

"CPI has the capacity to be part of both traditional and online market in Brazil"

A few days after the realization of the Online Gaming Summit Brazil in the city of San Pablo, Rudi Borgato, Sales Manager of CPI for Latin America, comments in this interview about the expectations of the company before attending the event. 'CPI is interested in any development legally permitted in the market. We are in a position to be part of it,' says Borgato.

Next December 3-4, at the Pacaembu Stadium in São Paulo, OGS Brazil will bring together operators, product and service providers, regulators and authorities to discuss the current scenario and future regulation of the Online Gameing and Sports Betting sector in Brazil.

GMB - With what expectations do you get to the Online Gaming Summit Brasil, an unprecedented event for our market? Which services/products of your company would highlight for this new market that opens in the country?
Rudi Borgato - CPI has the best possible expectation, especially after the approval of the PM in the Congress. We are interested in everything and any development legally permitted in the market. CPI will be positioned to be part of it.

Recently, the Brazilian Congress legalized sports betting. What do you think of this progress? Which are your expectations now?
Yes, we were waiting fo it.

How do you think the regulation of the sports betting business should be in the country? Do you expect it to be with multi-licenses?
We are interested in the SSBT market and everything that can develop as a result of sports betting, and CPI has the technical ability to enter the universe online.

If you should suggest to the Finance Ministry some model of a country with successful regulation to take as an example, what would it be?
The market "Made in Brazil" will not wait long for the regulation of Finance, this must be fast: The private sector would lose interest in two or four years as provided by law. This is the only problem. As for a model country, I do not think it exists, in Brazil things will be very Brazilian. The ideal would be to leave public bodies far from the market, but in Brazil we think it will be the other way around and how this would impact investors is the big question.

Is this kind of knowledge-sharing meeting something that the country needs to prevent the population from being misinformed about the false "dangers" of the gaming sector?
Yes, these events are important and the "dangers of gaming" are just lack of knowledge of the market and its technologies.

Online gaming seems today to be the fastest growing modality in the world. Why do you think this is happening?
Those are changes of generation and we can not go against. We must adapt.

In terms of size, what kind of market do you imagine the Brazilian one will be? Which product do you think will be most successful?
This is still very early, but we imagine that it would be a minimum of Mexico x2.

How do you think the new government led by Jair Bolsonaro will address the rest of the gaming market in the country?
The economic policy will be favorable, but the political side will be against it. We have to wait.
