Liga Stavok has recently introduced a new survey, in which it asked among 1,450 bettors about what they prefer in terms of sport betting. And the result was overwhelming: football is the most popular sports for betting in Russia.
Alexander Egorov, deputy director general of the company, said: “The most popular type of sports to bet on is football, 52 per cent of punters bet on football matches.”
“Tennis is on the second place with 14 per cent, the third place belongs to basketball with 12 per cent. Eight per cent of sports fans bet on hockey, and 6 per cent on volleyball,” Egorov added.
Another Russian betting company, Leon, also found similar results in its latest survey. The report also found out that the Russian eSports industry grows at an annual rate of 23–25 per cent.
